In April 2013, the business partners of the Breckon Group Clermont, an engineering & fabrications workshop, made the decision to cease trade and wind up the partnership due to the downturn in the resources sector. This was a very difficult time for all involved with emotions and anguish running wild.
We turned to a company who we knew to have good solid values, were trustworthy and we felt would give us the best advice on what did became a large scale auction.
We gave them a time frame of 6 weeks to work hard to put it all together and told them we wanted “bang for our buck”!
The 2 Directors, Tony Hoch and John Wilkinson, who we had dealt with in business over the past 27 years, came and assessed the site, equipment and the products.
Originally it looked like one big day would do the job. We had our draftsman work with John on a site layout and found we had 1500 items ranging from Franna Cranes, motor vehicles, cattle handling equipment, engineering equipment, hardware items, nuts & bolts & furniture. The decision was made that it had to be a 2 day auction which did not phase the Hoch and Wilkinson team. John Wilkinson & Jake Pasfield and their team took total control of the arrangements and the sale, including security, advertising, bid card systems, line of credit, catering, traffic control, auction team and monies. Knowing what items to start with and what to finish with, making auction lots enticing for buyers, making sure we had all the current equipment manuals and current electrical tagging was a job successfully accomplished by their team. We actually weren’t even present for auction day, we placed our faith in Hoch & Wilkinson and left town.
The auction sale surpassed our expectations and we commend the Hoch & Wilkinson team for doing their absolute best for the Breckon Group. We received fantastic feedback from many of our previous clients & auction bargain hunters who all claimed that auction day was run extremely professionally. The final wrap up and release of monies to us was smoothly done with minimal fuss.
We would have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending Hoch & Wilkinson for any further auctions & other business, our experience was a very positive one.
