Hoch & Wilkinson in conjunction with Clermont Agencies are hosting their 7th Annual Clermont Beef Expo & Trade Display at the Clermont Showgrounds. The 2019 Beef Expo will build on the successes of the previous years.
The day will start with a big breakfast followed by a cattle sale and trade displays. Our catch phrase for this year is “Drought Proof your Dollars”. Our guest speaker is Noel Whittaker AM, one of the world’s foremost authorities on personal finance. Noel is a writer and regular contributor to magazines and newspapers and has written 22 books, including Making Money Made Simple, Aged Care. Who Cares?, Getting it Together and Beginner’s Guide to Wealth to name a few.

Clermont Beef Expo Market Report 30/10/2019

Hoch and Wilkinson yarded 1200 head at their Beef Expo at Clermont Wednesday 30th October, cattle were mainly drawn from the local area, with few lines drawn from Alpha and Mackay.

The Grand Champion Exhibit and Champion Pen of Prime cattle was won by the Fernie Family “Riverview” Clermont with a pen of Charolais Cross grain assisted bullocks weighing 697kgs to make 345c/kg to return $2406.

The Pen of 100 Day Grain Fed Bullocks was won by Burenda Holdings with a pen of Angus/Braford Cross Bullocks which weighed 700kgs to make 348c/kg to make $2426. They also won the Sally Taylor Memorial trophy for the supreme beast of the show, he weighed 770kgs to make 348c/kg to make $2679.

 The Pen of Grass-fed Bullocks was won by the Saal and Beil Families “Mazeppa” Clermont with a pen of Droughtmaster Bullocks which made 347c/kg to weigh 714kgs to return $2479.

 The Finger Family “Hillview” won the pen of Trade Grain Fed Steers with a pen of Simmental cross steers that weighed 665kgs and made 345c/kg to return $2295. They also won the Trade grain assist/crop fed steers which made 344c/kg for 591kgs to come back at $2034.

The Pen of Grass-Fed Steers was won by the Lund Family “Kilcummin” Clermont with a pen of Charolais cross steers that weighed 588kgs and reached 339c/kg to return $1995.

The Grain Assist/Crop fed Trade Heifers was won by the Brown Family “Ironbark” Clermont with a pen of Charolais cross heifers which weighed 483kgs and sold for 318c/kg to return $1535.

A Pen of Brahman Heifers account of Michael Borg “Calveston” Clermont won the grass-fed heifer class which sold for 321c/kg to weigh 540kg to make $1735.

The Pen of Prime Cows was won the Walker/Wharley Families “Reklaw Park” Clermont with a pen of Droughtmaster Cross Cows which made 246c/kg and weighed 559kgs to return $1376.

The Champion of Pen Store cattle was won with a pen of Santa feeder steers from The Scharf Family “Khartoum” which weighed 480kgs and reached 304c/kg to make $1460.

The Pen of Store Steers was won by Pat and Prue Lonergan “Parnu” Clermont with Droughtmaster steers that weighed 385kgs and made 306c/kg to make $1180.

The Pen of Weaner Steers was won by the Pownall Families “Chasford” Clermont with Droughtmaster steers that weighed 269kgs and made 294c/kg to make $790.

 The Pen of Feeder Heifers was won by the Benney Family “Merrigang” Clermont with a pen of Charolais heifers that weighed 423kgs and topped at 290c/kg to come back at $1228.

The Store Heifer class was won by Troy and Ann Kinnon “New Corry” Clermont with a pen of Simmental heifers which made 248c/kg to weigh 255kgs to make $694.
